Though the Norwegian Forest Cat may seem like they are related to wild cats, this feral-looking cat is, in fact, a natural breed. The origin of the breed is unknown, but it is certain that the Norwegian Forest Cat has existed for quite some time now – these big fluffy cats have been mentioned in several Norse myths and legends which were written over one millennium ago.

Personality

As their name implies, Norwegian Forest Cats love nothing more than to spend time outdoors and freely explore their surroundings. They are super curious cats and will spend hours investigating your home and playing with random household objects.

Even though the Norwegian Forest Cat may look somewhat intimidating to people who have never had the pleasure of owning one of these athletic cats, they are genuine sweethearts who love their humans and enjoy cuddling more than anything. As far as new people and situations are concerned, the Norwegian Forest Cat is not easily frightened and will have no problem dealing with anything new that comes their way.
